my feeling of leaving CHINA to CANADA

『洋葱头S60』 This summer, I left China—my hometown to Canada---the most beautiful land in my memories. All my friends were very surprised and felt sad. Because I would be so far away from them. My best friend Sarah cried when she got home later the day I told everybody I would go and study in Canada. That day I could not fall asleep. I felt upset and excited. I was upset because I really do not want to leave my dear friends,
especially Sarah. But soon, I would leave. I was pretty excited because I would start my new life in a new country and then improve my English. That made me really look forward to going abroad .but soon I felt upset again……

Yes, I have the same feeling too. You will have your new friends here and you can keep in touch with your old friends by QQ, Email and so on.

I think you should use "fall" after "could not"
