再说说有啥感觉?

流星蝴蝶 发表于 2014-9-13 11:04:58

Very dynamic group
Different people from different country with different background
Only two gentlemen and instructor told us to be nice to them
Among the group of 20, three from china, one from Taiwan (she said so)
Several from venezuela, two from Iran, one from India, one from Egypt.
We also have classmates from japan and Ukraine.
Instructors are quite professional and promise to find unpaid work placement for us after this program.
Since it is full time training from 9am to 3pm, we feel exhausted end of each session.
I asked classmate who previously attended Linc program what the differences are.
They said this program contains much more information.

4 weeks has passed....not easy... We have 3 instructors in all. One is teaching workplace culture in Canada and the main assignment is to do elevator speech ( introduce yourself in 30 seconds in a professional networking ) and do presentation on " to teach something" in 15 minutes and we will have a group presentation in several weeks.
The second instructor is teaching writing your short bio, professional bio, resume and cover letter. She is trying to build our vocabulary regarding this topic. The last one is not really a lecturer. She called herself a facilitator instead. True she is helping us to find placement ,networking opportunity and job information.
When we asked how to assess this program, they said if we gain confidence after this program, that is the effectiveness. Really? why not take employment rate of this group into consideration?

你还没有理解,这个program 和你找工是有利益冲突的,只有你能完成这个program后,找到工作,才没有利益冲突。

流星蝴蝶 发表于 2014-11-14 06:12:12

Not really. Instructors encourage you to look for jobs during the program and will help you to prepare for the interview. One of my classmates got a part time job as sales clerk in the outlet shop and all the instructors were happy for her. There should be work placement after the program but maybe only half of students can get that.
Program is over now and it is hard to say whether this is a successful program or not. Still feel confused if I should apply for programs at college here and which program is better in terms of employability.

lamjin 发表于 2014-11-19 13:19:21

你还没有理解,你们只有完成这个的program 政府才给相应的资助的资金。 你们完成之前找到工作,人家就拿不到政府的funding 了。

Got an unpaid internship opportunity in a college. May start soon. Hope I can be a good fit there and get the Canadian experiences as planned.
